I browse DA every day but I often forget to update my own journal.  Quell annoyance.

Anyway - a few factoids:

I got a job!  I've been working for the past 2.5 months and I LOVE it.  Not being paid nearly as much as I was in my old job (there's a $20,000 difference, yeesh) so getting used to budgeting again is interesting.  I don't care, I love it. The job is simple, structured and quick. The people I work with are psychotic by their own admission. It's fantastic.

The only drawback is smelling like old fish.  It's at a seafood distributor in the next suburb from where I live. Worlds apart from my high-flying corporate job as a senior administrator in a superannuation fund in the city. NEVER have to take a train again. This makes me so. damned. happy. I am 25 minutes drive from my work and even less when it's school holidays and I don't have to worry about school traffic.

Anyway, aside from job things, I also won a pretty awesome competition!

Without... really... trying to. LOL  It still blows my mind.

For those of you who follow :iconconzpiracy: (aka Dean)  and his awesome website, surrealPSD , you would also know that he has a new learning system available called Art System Photoshop!

Dudes! And Dudettes!  This thing is worth every single cent I didn't have to pay for it.... because I won it.  I was going to buy it anyway but I won my access and OMG, the inspirationz!  If you're a serious 'manipper, get your arses over to the site, buy into it, INVEST IN YOUR SKILLS, and start learning.  Truly.  I'm practising but I can't wait to start putting up some new and improved stuff of my own.  I never thought to have an artistic career beyond my photography and photomanipulation is something I always did for shits and giggles but this system gives solid tools with which to build some serious skills.

Go buy.  Now. It's actually for sale on a massive discount.

I'll be right here.

Dragon Shade - Shadow Dragon Amulet by Renilicious
Dragon Shade - Shadow Dragon Amulet
The Dragon Shade is a powerful amulet said to be carved from the scale of a slain black shadow dragon. It's jewel holds the spirit of the beast which can be unleashed upon unwary heroes with an arcane spell. (Which means if you come across anyone wearing this amulet; run. Run far, far away, very quickly.)

I took inspiration from the Shadow Dragon from the D&D Monster Manual. It's actually really comfy to wear. Can't wait to find my evil mage to model it for me. This was for a D&D themed creative challenge on the Australian Beading Forum group.

Technical: Blood, sweat, tears, and many swear words. Also polymer clay sculpting, Viking Weave and headed-beaded chain. (I need a freakin' drink.)
