This is "The Cat", for want of a better name. Not at all how I was hoping it would turn out. I got a bit lost with it once I finished the actual cat bit. Lots of over-painting on the cat, lots and lots, and I had to redo the eyes from scratch because the shading on them was all wrong. It's a pity you can't really see the detail because the actual size of the face alone takes up most of my monitor workspace - and I've got a 19" 1280x1024 monitor resolution. So, yeah. Big. I tried to paint in some grass but I gave that up as soon as I remembered that I cannot draw at all. Hell, it took me two days to overpaint the cat.
I consider this the first version of this image - very unfinished though I wanted some feedback which is why I've posted it. I need to put something a little more substantial where the orbs are and do... something to it.
Note: This will not be available as a print due to rules set by =resurgere and `wroth (the original photographer of the background image). I will be doing a new version that will be, however, with stock that I know will be allowed to be used in prints.
wow, you need to quit dissing yourself, cause this is flippin awesome, doesn't matter if it took ya a few days to complete, it's just a matter of practise is all. Keep up the good work and you'll be kickin' arse with your paintings! Plus the forest looks magnificant!
Green and Cat = probably something I'll love, and love this one I do. Nothing stands out, unfortunantly, so this wont be a real helpful comment, but the image is peaceful and realistic looking and so I'm enjoying it immensly.
